Join Excel Race Academy on the iconic Zermatt Glacier for a high-performance alpine ski race camp this summer. Set at 3,883 metres on one of Europe's finest year-round ski racing venues, this camp is designed for junior and competitive alpine ski racers looking to make serious gains in slalom and giant slalom ahead of the 2026/27 race season.
With six days of coached on-snow training, full board accommodation in the heart of Zermatt, a glacier lift pass, and afternoon team activities, this is one of the most comprehensive junior ski race camps available from the UK.
Ski Race Training
Six full days of structured glacier ski racing training on a dedicated training lane on the Theodul Glacier, Zermatt — one of the world's premier summer ski racing venues. Our coaching team delivers a structured programme covering all aspects of alpine race performance:
- Timed slalom and giant slalom sessions with performance tracking
- Free skiing drills to develop agility, edge control and confidence
- Slalom and giant slalom gate training across all six days
- Technical and tactical development tailored to each athlete's level
- Video analysis for immediate, actionable feedback
- Ski preparation and tuning guidance using Snowglide machines
- Strength and conditioning sessions with Olympic lifting
Training takes place each morning on the glacier, with all athletes back down the mountain by early afternoon.
Afternoon Activities
Afternoons in Zermatt are packed with activities designed to develop fitness, teamwork and confidence off the slopes:
- Hiking on scenic glacier and alpine trails
- Football matches for fitness and teamwork
- High ropes and adventure courses at the Forest Fun Park Zermatt
- Team games focusing on leadership and collaboration
- Olympic lifting and strength and conditioning sessions
Accommodation
Athletes stay in comfortable, self-catered alpine apartments in the centre of Zermatt, within easy reach of the lifts, restaurants and village. Facilities include a ski room and access to a swimming pool. Full board catering is provided throughout the camp by our dedicated camp chef.

Booking & Cancellation Policy
- A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place on the camp by 1st May.
- This camp requires a minimum number of athletes to run. If we do not meet the minimum attendance, the camp will be cancelled and all deposits will be returned in full.
- The remaining balance will be invoiced and is due 30 days prior to the start date (27th May).
- Cancellations within 30 days of the camp start date are not permitted, and no refunds will be issued.
- All participants must have valid travel insurance that covers alpine ski racing.
- In the event of cancellation within 30 days of the camp start date, or curtailment of the camp due to injury or illness, no refunds will be given and any costs incurred must be claimed through your insurance provider.
FAQs
The camp is open to alpine ski racers from U10 through to FIS level. Athletes should be competing or training in slalom and giant slalom to get the most from the programme.
Yes. A full glacier lift pass for the Zermatt Matterhorn Glacier Paradise is included in the camp fee for all six training days.
A full kit list will be provided upon booking confirmation. Athletes will need race skis (slalom and GS), helmet, race suit, back protector, and appropriate glacier clothing. Ski tuning equipment is provided on camp.
Athletes fly into Zurich Airport (ZRH). Transfers from Zurich to Zermatt are included for athletes travelling on the recommended flights listed above.
