Pastoral Care
The well-being and safety of our athletes are paramount, reflecting our deep commitment to the value of "Family." Each child is supported by a dedicated team, including house parents, coaching staff, and teachers, who work together to create a nurturing environment.
Our coaches maintain open and consistent communication with parents, providing regular updates to keep you closely connected to your child's experience. Through our Excel Parent's WhatsApp Chat, you'll receive real-time updates, photos, and videos, allowing you to share in their journey and feel reassured about their care.
Beyond athletic training, our staff ensure athletes have fun and enjoy their time at the academy. Evenings and rest days are filled with exciting activities such as trips to Innsbruck, trampoline parks, climbing walls, football, waterparks, and more. These experiences not only enhance the camaraderie among athletes but also strengthen the family-like atmosphere that is central to our academy.
Safeguarding
At Excel Race Academy, the safety and welfare of children and young people is our top priority. We follow Snowsport England’s SnowSafe policy, ensuring all activities are delivered in a safe, child-centred environment. All staff and volunteers are DBS-checked and receive safeguarding training. Any concerns about a child or young person’s wellbeing are reported promptly to the appropriate safeguarding lead. Visitors to this page can view our full safeguarding policies and find clear information on how to report a concern, whether about a child, young person, or adult at risk.

How to Report a Concern
It is not your responsibility to determine or investigate whether a child or adult has been abused or is at risk of harm; however, it is your responsibility to report any safeguarding concerns promptly and appropriately.
For children and young people (<18 years of age), there is a duty of care to share concerns with the relevant safeguarding lead, with or without the child’s consent or that of their parent or carer. For adults (>18 years of age), concerns should usually be reported with their consent, but you should still inform the Excel Race Academy Club Welfare Officer, as there may be circumstances where a concern needs to be passed on without consent.
Your concern will be treated confidentially and you will not be subject to detriment by raising a safeguarding concern in good faith.
If you believe a child or adult is in immediate danger, contact the police or emergency services on 999 without delay.
