Overview
The Aurora Cup is an alpine ski race that takes place annually in Geilo, Norway. It features two thrilling races under the flood lights: Night Giant Slalom and Night Slalom race, open to U10 through to Masters ski racers.
This BASS-registered seeded event welcomes international racers from across the globe to compete on the Asleloypa slope in Geilo, Norway.
With podium prizes from leading ski brands and sponsors, plus the prestigious Overall Aurora Cup Champion titles - winners will receive a Reindeer Adoption complete with updates, certificates, and a chance to meet their reindeer!
2026 Provisional Event Programme
15th December: Team Captains Meeting at Vestlia Hotel 6pm
16th December: Night Slalom - Asleloypa - Start approx 4 pm
17th December: Giant Slalom - Asleloypa - Start approx 9 am
Race Entry
Entry is open to international competitors aged U10 - Masters via the only entry system.
Entry closes midnight 2nd December 2026. Late entries will be subject to a admin surcharge.
Podiums & Prizes
Prize giving
Prize giving for individual disciplines and overall winners will take place on 17th December in the main conference room of Vestlia Hotel at the bottom of the Asleloypa race piste.
Discipline Podiums
Podiums for the Giant Slalom and Slalom races will be awarded to age categories U10, U12, U14, U16, U18 and U21+.
Prizes for individual podiums of the Giant Slalom and Slalom races have been generously sponsored by: Wintersports Foundation, Panda Optics, Dynastar and Lange.
Overall Aurora Cup Champions
The Aurora Cup’s overall champions in the U10, U12, U14, and U16 categories will receive a unique prize sponsored by the Cairngorm Reindeer Herd — adoption of a reindeer. Winners will receive a certificate, a photo of their adopted reindeer, information about the herd, and special souvenirs. They’ll also enjoy a complimentary visit to the herd in Aviemore, Scotland.
Event Photographs
Adam Orzel is our official photographer who will be present throughout the event during races and prize giving. Photographs of racers will be published after the event to a publicly available gallery where they are available to download free of charge.
